Split big models into printable parts In testing · Pro
Cut a model that is too big for your bed along a plane, the way a slicer does — but with Snappy’s clearance applied to the faces that meet, so the pieces actually press together instead of jamming or falling apart. Pick the seam, preview the real cut before you commit, and add proper joinery: dowels and connectors sized through the same clearance engine, rather than the single pin-or-nothing most slicer cut tools give you.
Built and in testing now, with release planned in the next week or two. Suggested by a Snappy user.

Right now Snappy applies one gap evenly to every face. On a real FDM print the gap doesn't come out the same in every direction — layers stack vertically so up-and-down gaps print tighter than sideways ones, downward overhangs sag, and larger parts shrink more. The plan is an optional vertical multiplier and a part-size compensation, so a single fit accounts for how your printer actually lays plastic down.
Deferred deliberately: the right numbers depend on your printer and filament, and a wrong default is worse than none. Until it lands, set a looser value on the affected cutter with per-cutter custom clearance.
